In this research project the goal is to find out if and how is possible apply Behavioral Authentication in the field of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) in order to ensure privacy and security to the passenger. With the passing of time, cars are enriched by sensors that can be used to know behaviors and driving styles. At the present time some insurance companies offer insurance policy that discount the insurance premium price if the driver takes a foresighted driving style. According to the Directive 2010/40/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7 July 2010, “Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) are advanced applications which [...] as such aim to provide innovative services relating to different modes of transport and traffic management and enable various users to be better informed and make safer, more coordinated and ‘smarter’ use of transport networks.”. It is considered appropriate to gather information from the car sensors in order to create a driving style profile of the conductor, compare it with the actual use of the car and determine whether or not the driver is the car owner.
